Electrical Construction Inspector

Construction Inspectors report directly to the Area Lead Construction Engineer who reports Project Execution Superintendent. • Overseeing, checking and monitoring construction contractors’ activities on Site in order to ensure compliance with the Contract specifications, drawings, and industry best practices for construction with a special emphasis on construction safety. • Witnessing and carrying out specific site testing related to discipline work activities to ensure compliance as above.

Experience

·         A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience carrying out specific site testing to ensure compliance to specifications. This experience is directly relatable to oil field facilities construction.

·         Good working knowledge of international standards applicable to the industry in this area.

·         Computer literacy and an excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.

·         Knowledge and experience of monitoring electrical construction activities for HV, MV, and LV installation including power generation, switchgear, overhead transmission lines, transformers and similar facilities.

·         Read Single Line Diagrams, wiring diagrams, other discipline related technical drawings and source materials.

·         A good working knowledge of IEE regulations and Hazardous Area Classification and certification.

 

Duties

• Construction Inspectors report directly to the Area Lead Construction Engineer who reports to the Tripoli based Project Execution Superintendent.
• Overseeing, checking and monitoring construction contractors’ activities on Site in order to ensure compliance with the Contract specifications, drawings, and industry best practices for construction with a special emphasis on construction safety.
• Witnessing and carrying out specific site testing related to discipline work activities to ensure compliance as above.
• Monitoring construction progress and measuring progress for ongoing and completed activities where re-measurement is a construction contract requirement for payment purposes.
• Reporting on construction progress to the Area Lead Construction Engineer, highlighting any areas of concern with respect to safety, quality of work or schedule.
• Inspection, testing and ‘punch listing’ of completed works prior to hand over to Operations Department.

Assist in the development of system designs and scope of work for miscellaneous projects to be developed and executed at site without input from the Tripoli Project Engineering Group.

 

Qualifications

 

·         10yrs minimum of relevant previous post recognised qualification experience

·         Diploma/Technician certification
